Accessibility Statement

Statement updated: 5 November 2026

BASAD wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to order food on basad.app and in the BASAD app independently and comfortably.

We work to make the service accessible under the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013, and Israeli Standard 5568, which is based on the WCAG 2.0 guidelines at level AA. The Hebrew version of this statement is the binding one.

What we have done

The language and writing direction of the pages (Hebrew, right to left) are declared in the code, so screen readers read them correctly.

Actions on the site are built as real buttons and links, which can be reached and used with a keyboard.

Buttons shown only as an icon (back, close, add, remove, favourite and others) carry a text label that screen readers announce.

Windows that open over the screen are marked as dialogs, and most can be closed with the Escape key.

Pictures that carry information, such as the kashrut certificate, have alternative text. Dish and restaurant photos are decorative only, and the dish or restaurant name appears beside them as text.

Short pop-up messages and loading states are announced to screen readers.

The information pages (the terms, the privacy policy and this statement) are built with orderly headings and regions.

Every page on the site, the ordering screens included, can be zoomed by pinching and in the browser's settings.

On the ordering screens, secondary text (prices, descriptions, notes and the order status) is shown at a contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background.

When navigating with a keyboard, a clear frame is drawn around the button or link that has focus.

What is not yet fully accessible

We are still working on accessibility, and we know that the following parts do not yet fully meet the standard:

In windows that open over the screen, keyboard focus does not stay inside the window. We are working to fix this.

Some form fields are identified only by the text inside them rather than by a separate label.

Notices that appear inside the cart and payment screens (for example, that cash is not available or that the minimum order has not been reached) are not announced to screen readers on their own.

The maps (marking the building entrance and tracking the courier) are not fully accessible. The address, the order status and the arrival time are also shown as text, and the entrance can be described in words in the order notes.

Pictures, menus, descriptions and kashrut certificates come from the restaurants. We show them as provided and will gladly help if anything in them is unclear.

Ordering another way

If you find it hard to order on the site or in the app, contact us by phone or WhatsApp at 055-2506235 or by email at support@basad.app, during opening hours, and we will help you complete the order on WhatsApp.

Reporting an accessibility problem

Found an accessibility problem? We want to hear about it. Call us or write to us on WhatsApp at 055-2506235, or email at support@basad.app, and tell us which page or screen it was on, what you were trying to do, and which device, browser or assistive technology you were using.

We will confirm that we received your message, look into it and get back to you as soon as possible.
